DevLog #25: Chat With Your Custom Agents, Run Agent Slash Commands, and Queue for a Session
This week in Nori Sessions: you can start a web chat with one of your custom agents, run !compact and the agent’s own slash commands from any chat, and wait in line for a web chat when every machine is busy.
You can also filter the sidebar by session type, pin a conversation by dragging it, keep conversations unread until you act on them, run a session with no skillset, and use new Grok and Gemini models with Cursor. Session memories are on for every organization.
Chat with your custom agents and run their commands
- Start a web chat with one of your custom agents. The new-chat page can start a conversation with any custom agent you are allowed to use. Type
/agentor/agent @handlein the composer to pick one. Once picked, the agent’s model and skillset appear as locked pills before the chat starts, and you can change them after it starts. - Compact a conversation and run your agent’s own slash commands. Type
!compactin Slack, Discord, or the web composer to compact the agent’s context. Slash commands the agent provides, such as/review, now run and appear in the web command palette. In the palette, Tab completes a command and then its value, for example/moto/modeland then a model id. - Run a session without the org’s default skillset. Pick No skillset in the skillset picker, or type
!skillsets none, to start a session with no skillset even when the org sets a default. - Use session memories in every org. Session memories are on for every organization. Agents can save and recall preferences and process lessons across sessions.
- Pick Grok 4.7, Grok 4.6, Gemini 4 Argon, and Gemini 3.8 Flash for the Cursor agent. All four are in the Cursor agent’s model list.
Wait in line for a web chat when the fleet is full
- Queue a new web chat when every machine is busy. The chat shows its live place in line, with options to leave the queue or end an idle session. Queue cards on Slack, Discord, and the web stay current and say who took a freed session.

Filter, pin, and track conversations in the sidebar
- Filter the sidebar by session type. The sidebar has one full-width Type filter that lists the session types your org uses, including Slack, Discord, CLI, and project runs. It hides automation and project runs by default, remembers your choice, and has Show all and Reset to default. Delegated runs are now called Project runs.
- Pin a conversation by dragging it, and see your pins on every device. On desktop, drag a sidebar conversation into or out of the pinned group to pin or unpin it. Pins are saved to your account, so they show on every device. Automation authors now see their runs under Yours, with unread badges and push notifications.
- Keep a conversation unread until you reply or act on it. A conversation is marked read when you reply, type in the composer, click the latest message, or mark it read yourself. Releasing a conversation, including with
!donein the web composer, marks it read for everyone in it.
Change your agent’s preferences after onboarding
- Edit your org’s agent preferences at any time. Admins can change the agent’s name, focus, work areas, and response style under Settings, Sessions after onboarding.
